Its not cropping anything that is the real size of the forum even when I paste the same code to my test blog. You should be able to set up the forum to the correct size on the site you got it from.

I use a different type of contact form which you might have better luck with.

I'm trying to break the format originally intended for my post page but I just can't figure out the exact code for it to work correctly.

This is just not enough or clear enough information for a beginner blogger as I am. The test blog is a good idea that I will try and experiment with and just try to follow your instructions which are so foreign to me and intimidating. I don't understand what tweeks or widgets are.

Well it seems to be working for me. I see a different background for the static page. If your having issues with it you should contact BloggerSentral because the code you are using looks to be from their site not mine. As for your post area you should be able to use #Blog1 {display: none;} However it seems your post area as a iframe wrapper to it. So even know you maybe able to hide the content the iframe will still appear. This template is a 3rd party template and I prefer not to deal with question relating to re designing a 3rd party template. Some of those templates are protected and it is unlawful to customize them.

I used the code to have different backgrounds for different pages, and it works on one of the pages but not for other pages. Also, I can't seem to hide my main post area or change the background of the post area.

I believe your referring to 小鲤鱼 blog. On this blog it has a custom design on if that looks to be from one of those blogger theme sites. The background on this blog is coming from the section called #wrap3. So maybe try using that as the CSS rule in place of the body.
