Unfortunately yes we will be forced to move over to the new interface as this is part of Blogger moving forward. The worst part about this is their are many options that are only offered in the old interface that will be opted out. Classic templates will no longer be a part of Blogger which will cause a uproar. I can only hope they will fix issues like this before we are forced to move, but they have yet to tell us when they will fully move to the new interface.

From some of the things I've read, it appears that sometime in the future everyone will have to move to the new interface. I hope this is not true. I don't like the new interface. The old one is working - no need to change. Thanks for your info.
