About HTML

What is HTML?

HTML stands for Hyper Text Mark-up Language and is a basic mark-up language used to form web pages and in-line styles.

Most web users unaware call any coding seen HTML which is common mistake. The Blogger Edit HTML page is a HTML document but contains more languages of coding besides HTML.

How does the browser use HTML?

Browser render the coding to form elements (blocks) within the web page. The browser will read the HTML coding from top to bottom and left to right. This is why you may sometimes see the right side or bottom of a page load last when entering a site.

HTML can also be used to style content within the elements, although CSS coding will generally be more efficient and look better. When using HTML to style content it is known as in-line styles since the style code is within the same line or snippet of coding.

Not all HTML codes are compatible with all browsers. Browser will even render HTML coding different from one another. Some HTML colors may display darker or light from one browser to the next.  When using HTML colors its important to use web safe colors so your web pages does not display different from one browser to the next.

Do I need anything to use HTML coding?

You don't need any software to start writing HTML coding. Many users write HTML coding inside your basic Microsoft Notepad or Blogger post editor. I use a little more advanced software that is free called Notepad++.
