Issue:
Their is a bit of a glitch with the Followers gadget that will not allow you to use custom colors. When you edit the Followers gadget you will see a option that says "Use template default styles". Now when you uncheck this option you can enter in your own custom colors. However for whatever reason, their is a problem with the gadget. When you try to save the custom colors it does not save them. When you open the gadget back up its stuck on template default colors instead of the colors you saved. If you go into the Page Source the colors also remain as the template default colors.Workaround:
Using the gadget directly from the site it came from. You can go to Google Friend Connect to do so.

You're my new best friend.. I have searched and searched to overcome this glitch and none of the solutions worked.. but yours?? BINGO
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
but where do i have to copy this code on the googleconnection site? I don't really get that..
ReplyDeleteWhen you click on the link you should see a option at the top that says "Add the members gadget". Select this can then it will bring you to a design option to set up the specs of your Followers Gadget. Once you set up the specs you will see a option near the bottom that says "Generate HTML". Copy the output code and paste it into a HTML/JavaScript Gadget.

ReplyDeleteThe problem is that I am now starting over with 0 followers. Is there a way to keep the followers I already have?
ReplyDeleteWhen your viewing the Google friend connect site make sure to click your site on the left sidebar before designing the friend connect gadget. This will pull the followers from your site so your not starting over.
